Peace Through Courage
9/11 Conspiracy? A Plausible Answer?
Earlier this week I was engaged in a debate about 9/11 conspiracy theories that grew out of a video someone had posted about mysterious deaths linked 9/11. It is a subject I have spent a great deal of time researching and here is some of what I've found out.
The attacks of September 11 isn't the fault of Bush, Clinton or Reagan nor are they the fault of democrats or Republicans. Because they all share the blame. It is the fault of a duplicitous foreign policy that employs the worst kinds of crimes and abuses in pursuit of the loftiest of aims. That is why one of Bush's first post 9/11 moves was to grant amnesty to himself and past presidents who may have been found to have complicity in the attacks. While we don't have any direct hand in this crime our government s hands are far from clean when it comes to providing motive and opportunity to those that did.
It all starts with Afghanistan in the late 1970's. At that time there is an elected secular “progressive” Soviet backed government. Because America needs to defeat the Soviet Union we begin to support the warlords who used to run things things. The rebellion gathers strength and threatens to topple the government triggering the Soviet invasion.
We along with our allies Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continue to support the warlords while at the same time seeking build an organization to bring in Islamists from all over the world to topple the Soviet infidels. Part of this effort includes Al Queda and Osama Bin Ladens involvement the operation is lovingly known now as Charlie Wilson's war. The operation is a complete success and we pat ourselves on the back and leave Afghanistan to drug dealers, warlords and an army if Islamists to sort out. The end result being of course the Taliban.
So we chalk you up to our side and the country falls into hell where they have public beheadings, like they do in Saudi Arabia. Things remain fairly calm until the early 1990's when America needed to clean up a mess. For a time we had been supporting brutal dictator Saddam Hussein in his war with our arch enemy Iran. We had provided him with weapons of mass destruction which he used on his own people. And in the end he failed to win the war against Iran. So like Noriega he had outlived his usefulness and had to go.
But there had to be a pretext a reason to take him out because he wasn't going quietly. He thought he was to big to fail. So we provide Kuwait with the technology to drill at an angle so they could tap into rich Iraqi oil fields. This provocation set the stage for war and with the United States stepping aside Saddam of course invaded and we know what happened after that. Because the Republicans desperately need an issue to help G. Bush win a second term in 1992. So Sir George picks up his sword and shield and rides into the desert to save this tiny Arab country. He is a hero.
Well except he doesn't want to occupy the country because that is a long term commitment. And he doesn't want to leave a defeated foe and a power vacuum for Iran to take advantage of. So of course we left Saddam in charge and spent the next ten years starving the country to force the dictator to give up the WMD we had help him develop.
All of this was good with the Islamists except for one small detail and army of infidels was occupying the Holy Land they feared another Trojan Horse and the troops would never leave. So at that point Osama declared war on us and started carrying out attacks against us inside Saudi Arabia. We were able to somewhat ease the situation by withdrawing our ground troops and helping the Islamists waning to fight in Bosnia. But still there was the first World Trade Center bombing, the embassy attacks, Bill Clinton's failure to take Osama from the Sudanese who then sent to Afghanistan the attack on the Cole and then the installation of George Bush.
They knew that something was coming there had been the attack on the USS Cole after the elections and plenty of other warnings. George Bush was too busy standing up to Russia and China. Besides if an attack happened it would give Bush a chance to show the world what a warrior he was. The neo cons that made up the Bush team would then have a pretext to use the attack to justify and invasion of Iraq which was one of their guiding principals. In the early 2001 when Bush traveled to Italy there was a threat to crash an airliner into the hotel he was staying him. He was removed to an aircraft carrier to be under the protection of missile defense. And when he went on vacation was too busy cutting brush or something to be briefed on threat to carry out the same sort of attacks inside the US. Now stop for a moment and think about that
The president who is a war time deserter from the military is on a month long vacation and can't take the time to be briefed on eminent threats of attacks on the US. How does this happened and why was it accepted?
And then of course the attacks of September 11 happened.
And the presidents, whose government couldn't get fighters into the sky in time to do anything about the attacks, response was to blame a madman go over to Afghanistan and get rid of the government that was blocking the oil pipeline we wanted to build. Then instead of going to the ends of the earth to catch this madman we let him go under the protection of the nuclear armed Pakistan. We had him trapped and then let him go, maybe maybe not. If he is found dead then the cover for our occupation of countries of the other side of the globe is blown. Besides we had already planned the invasion of Iraq. So we turned Afghanistan back to the drug dealers and warlords that have almost always ruled the country We provided them with enough help to keep the Islamists from taking over again and went to work on Saddam. Meanwhile the new war on terror was now being used like the war on drugs as a way to take away individual rights.
So that's a little bit more than the brief version but not as extensive as it could be. Perhaps this little story will touch off some debate so we can fill the history out. The attacks of 9/11 had a profound effect on me and since that time I have read widely and researched the subject pretty throughly and this is what I get out of it in the end.
As to those that think that our government had a direct role in the attacks or it was staged I would simply ask why would they bother to take the risk? The National Security state of the American government isn't a terrorist operation they subcontract the work. They don't need to get their hands dirty. It's the kind of stuff you do when your establishing a global empire. The School of the Americas was a place run by the army that trained agents from all over South America on how to torture people. So why would they risk exposure to carry out such an attack when you've already done as much to create the conditions for such an event already.
I have a YouTube channel with a collection of videos that examine this subject in more detail and I would also recommend you visit the History Commons 9/11 time line. It has over six thousand entries beginning in 1968. Those who are conspiracy buffs will be able to find lots of meat in there for you to chew on.
Because in the end they conspiracy theorists are right about this much. There is an element of the American government known as the National Security State and it seeks global hegemony and will use any means to obtain it. It is the kind of thing that many including Dwight Eisenhower and General Butler have spoken about. And in the beginning the aim was to establish American hegemony but the last twenty years we have increasing seen a shift from American to corporate hegemony. This is the New World Order that papa Bush told us about. There might not be any black helicopters carrying out missions here in America but they are all over Pakistan.
